MAUTO, the Italian National Automobile Museum, is a unique reality in the world. Now approaching the 90th anniversary of its foundation, it boasts in its collection vehicles that are "masterpieces of technique, style and craftsmanship, which have come to the Museum for one great purpose: to tell the story of this extraordinary product of human genius, a symbol of freedom and progress", as Mariella Mengozzi, the Museum's Director, explains. All this, enhanced by an architectural framework and a fine layout, with an eye to accessibility, so that everyone can appreciate the Museum and feel personally involved in the visit.
The book contains a first section of essays written by experts and prominent personalities in the automotive sector (Bendetto Camerana, Marina Paglieri, Donatella Biffignandi, Aldo Enrietti, Lorenzo Ramaciotti and Alberto Sabbatini), followed by cards of the automobiles on display, presenting the history and technical details of each of the cars in the collection, accompanied by precious period and exhibition photographs.
